1. GET AN OFFER THAT PEOPLE WANT TO BUY (WHO CAN AFFORD IT)
This sounds so obvious it’s ‘meh’ – yet very few people actually tick the box here.
You see, your offer is the foundation you build your house on.
Crappy foundations = sinking house.
First create an offer that people want. Then use whichever selling system suits you best.
For example – when Joanna came to me, she was aiming her Pinterest training program at people already using Pinterest. I told her to change her audience to people like me who thought Pinterest was a waste of time. Within a month she made a lot of money.
(Btw, this is the very first step of my Ecosystem program. I sit down with you 1-1 and we figure out your perfect offer. If for some reason I’m unable to do that – which has never happened so far – or you’re not happy with what I come up with – you get a full refund at this point. Because there’s no point continuing without a perfect offer.)
2. HAVE A CONSISTENT WAY OF GENERATING GOOD PROSPECTS
Fletcher’s dictionary defines ‘good prospects’ as:
“People who see the value in coaching and are willing to invest. People who you like as human beings, and who like you in return. People who are self motivated and actually do the work you tell them to do. People who get results and give you great testimonials.”
My method is posting around 5x a week on Facebook. It’s easy and it works. People come to me, rather than me having to go to them.
But again, my way isn’t the only way. Your method might be ads. Might be cold DMs. Might be door to door knocking (God forbid).
Whatever your preference, it needs to be something you don’t despise doing and something which works consistently.
3. BE ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY CONVERT PROSPECTS INTO CUSTOMERS
Every time you say the wrong thing and you lose a prospect who should have converted, that’s thousands of dollars you’ve flushed down the toilet.
When you stop making these mistakes you make a lot more money. For example, when Luana came to me, she converted at 10%. After 2 mock sales calls with me, that number shot up to 40%.
Same level of effort, more money.

Take home lesson: It doesn’t take much to have a thriving online coaching business. There’s only a few cogs in the machine. However each one of those cogs has to be well oiled and working perfectly, or everything falls apart. That’s where I come in.
